Building on content from the DNP core and specialty courses, this course provides the opportunity for students to implement an evidence-based Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) project focused around improvement in clinical practice or organizational outcomes and to create a portfolio that reflects the attainment of advanced-level competencies outlined in the Essentials. Key elements of this DNP project will include problem identification; a search, analysis, and synthesis of the literature; translating evidence to construct an intervention to address a problem; implementation of the intervention; evaluation of the outcomes, process, and/or experience and impact of the project; and dissemination of findings with recommendations for further development of the project idea. The portfolio will include components that illustrate demonstration of competency for Essentials sub-competencies from all Essentials domains.
