A study of strategies for the development of nurse-midwifery practice and its relationship within the health care delivery system. Emphasis will be on the historical development of nurse-midwifery practice; structure and function of the American College of Nurse-Midwives and its relationship to practice; interdisciplinary organizations as they pertain to the maternal child health care delivery system; the legal base for nurse-midwifery practice; and the use of organizational, behavioral, and management theories, concepts and principles to design, administer, and evaluate various nurse-midwifery practice alternatives.
