Introduction to the concepts and applications of global positioning systems (GPS) for field mapping. Students will develop skills to collect, calibrate and analyze data collected with GPS equipment. Lectures are supplemented with field exercises in the use of GPS equipment. Lecture, two hours per week for five weeks; laboratory, four hours per week for three weeks.
