This course explores issues of ethics and social justice in the context of historic preservation by examining how these issues have shaped the public debate, policy making, and policy execution surrounding heritage resources. It will provide an overview of how issues such as race, gender, location, and income play a part in preservation efforts in the United States. It will further address ethical considerations in the global context through an examination of the impacts of climate change, political conflict, and human rights on heritage resources.
