This seminar in Public Health Communication is intended to acquaint students with theory and current research related to communication in public health settings. It is designed to provide insight into the communication that serves as the lifeblood of the organized institutions which promote public health. Those who wish to have a significant role in the management of public health practitioners, improve their understanding of organizations, understand how groups and individuals fit into the larger mission, need to apply advanced information and communication technologies, and desire to become more effective communicators will find this course worthwhile. This course is primarily designed to give students a background in theories, perspectives, concepts, and approaches to understanding communication.
