There will not be any JOU 304 labs the first week of class. In addition to the labs, students will need to be available for an afternoon broadcast on Wednesday at 5 p.m. These will be scheduled the first week of class. Override forms available at http://ci.uky.edu/jam/course- forms.

This class is designed to sharpen students' news judgment and teach them the skills they will need to become assignment editors and producers of radio and television newscasts. Students will study the content and selection of news stories, using audio materials from such sources as National Public Radio, and visual materials from CNN Newsource. Lecture, two hours; laboratory, two hours per week.
