Note:
Meets with BAE 599-002. We will overview current and emerging technologies used in digital agriculture. You will be engaged in learning technology fundamentals (languages, concepts, methods), through seven 2-week projects. These hands-on exercises will allow you to gain a practical understanding of the technology itself, review research and development trends, and debate opportunities and challenges presented by each technology. This course will equip you with basic computational thinking and software development skills for Agricultural Informatics careers. Languages used: Python (e.g., to graph data), html, CSS, and SQL. Experience with these languages is not required, but some prior programming experience with any computer programming language is necessary.
Advanced study in special topics in agricultural economics. May be repeated under a different subtitle to a maximum of fifteen credits. Lecture, one to three hours; laboratory, zero to six hours per week.
