Admitted Students

Congratulations! You’ve been admitted to the University of Kentucky College of Arts & Sciences. Now what?

Activate Your linkblue Account and UK Email

To activate your linkblue account, you will need your UK ID number and temporary passcode, which are located on your admission letter. Next, go to newstudent.uky.edu

Register for Big Blue Nation Orientation

At Big Blue Nation Orientation, you’ll meet with an academic advisor and register for your first-semester classes. You’ll also become familiar with campus and meet other incoming Wildcats. You will register for Orientation in your myUK account and this confirms your spot at the University of Kentucky.

For more information, visit the Big Blue Nation Orientation website.

Apply for Housing and Living Learning Programs

First-year students are highly encouraged to live on campus. The most successful students do! Living on campus helps you adjust to the rigors of a college education; allows you to meet study partners and friends; and gives you easy access to campus services such as dining, recreation centers and academic assistance. A living-learning program (LLP) allows you to live with students who share your interests or major. These dynamic residential experiences offer specialized programming, interactions with UK faculty and staff and a supportive community focused on student success. A few that may interest an Arts & Sciences major are:

  • Interprofessional Healthcare Residential College (IRHC)
  • International Village
  • Audre Lorde Social Justice
  • Leadership and Service
  • Community of Scholars OR
  • Creative Arts LLP
  • First-generation Scholars
  • Transfer Year Experience

Applying for housing and LLPs don’t bind you to the University of Kentucky, so be sure to submit your application early!

Apply for Financial Aid and Scholarships

UK is proud to award more than $400 million in financial aid and scholarships annually. To be considered for academic scholarships, be sure to apply for admission to UK by December 1st. For need-based aid or student loans, you’ll need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid at studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa starting in October.
