WELCOME TO THE COLLEGE OF ARTS & SCIENCES ADVISING CENTER!
We are here to help you with any questions regarding Academic Advising, Course Approvals, Transfer Credit, Internships, and more. You should meet with your advisor at least once a semester during the Priority Registration period to discuss your courses for the following semester.
A&S ADVISING CENTER INFORMATION:
The A&S Advising Center office is located in 202 Patterson Office Tower and our office hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00am-4:30pm.

We offer walk-in advising for non-A&S majors and students who have a primary major in another college on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 1:00-4:00pm. Please go to 202 POT and wait to be seen by the on-call advisor. You should expect wait times of up to 30 minutes if you come to walk-in advising.
FRESHMEN AND SOPHOMORES, ECONOMICS, INTERNATIONAL STUDIES, MATH ECONOMICS, POLITICAL SCIENCE AND TOPICAL STUDIES MAJORS:
Students who have accumulated 0-59 earned hours or are in the following majors: Economics, Internatinoal Studies, Math Economics, Political Science, and Topical Studies, will be advised by a professional Advisor. You can find your assigned Academic Advisor listed on your MyUK account. It is listed on your homepage on the Plan and Register for Courses area. You can make an appointment by following these instructions:
- Got to MyUK
- Click on MyInfo
- Select: MyAppointments
- Choose: College of Arts & Sciences
- Select: General Advising/ Priority Advising
- Select the appointment time that works for you
*Please note, Google Chrome will not work when attempting to make appointments*
JUNIORS AND SENIORS:
Students with 60+ hours will be advised by a faculty member in their department. You will need to contact your advisor through your @uky email address to make an appointment for advising.
HSP STUDENT ADVISING:
Students whose primary or secondary major is HSP will be assigned a faculty advisor from the co-Directors and the Faculty of Record. Students are required to meet with their HSP advisor at least once per semester, prior to registering for classes for the subsequent semester.
WHAT TO DO WHEN PREPARING FOR YOUR ADVISING APPOINTMENT:
- Run an APEX Audit on MyUK
- Make a list of courses you are considering taking the following semester
- Write down all of your questions
- Be prepared to talk about your goals, academic progress, and any problems you might be experiencing in classes
