Stuart Simms
Ph.D. Student
Teaching Assistant
History Graduate Student Association President

Stuart Simms is a fourth year student in the graduate program at the University of Kentucky. Originally from Athens, Alabama (about 30 miles outside of Huntsville), Stuart has always been immensely interested in the infrastructure and industries of the Cold War, primarily the National Aeronatuics and Space Administration (NASA) and the American nuclear complex. His research attempts to place these industries at the intersection of frameworks from the history of science and technology as well as local and environmental histories to create new approaches to the American public's relationships with the lingering influences of these industries and the larger implications these relationships have on a national and international narrative of the Cold War.
