My name is Maria Shamai and I am a senior dual-degreeing in Biology and Chemistry and minoring in Psychology on the pre-med track. I am from Owensboro, KY and graduated from Daviess County High School in 2016. 

One of my favorite parts of attending UK is all the involvement opportunities available. In addition to being an Ambassador, I am an Undergraduate Instructional Assistant for the STEMCats Living Learning Program and an Ambassador for the Parent and Family Association. This summer I will be staying in Lexington attending See Blue orientations and promoting the Parent and Family Association and studying for the MCAT. I am also an active member of Alpha Phi Omega Service Fraternity, the Student Philanthropy Board, and president of the Jewish Student Union-Chabad. I also am a member of the K Week Board and assist in planning K Week for the incoming students!
