Kelsy Yeargain
PhD Student

I am a first year PhD student in the University of Kentucky Geography program. My main academic interest is the role of the borderland and the state in the securitization of Central American migration.  I am also interested in the so-called "failed state," state sovereignty, and military intervention. My research area is the borderland of Guatemala and Mexico.

In the past I have focused on the Securitization of Humanitarianism in Haiti following the 2010 Earthquake and Somali Piracy and the Sea as a Borderland.
