Graudate Instructor

Brandon West is a PhD student of English at the University of Kentucky. West's research revolves around "negative fictions," those fictional works that arouse unpleasant emotions in the audience (e.g., terror or discomfort). He is interested in the allure these stories have and particularly in how negative fictions help their audiences navigate real-life issues. His current projects include an examination of modern exploitation films and an analysis of liminal horror fiction.
