Where can I get Blackboard Training?

Intended audience:
All users

The university offers many forms of training in regards to blackboard. This tutorial will cover some of those options.

1. Academic Technology Training Library
The training library is designed to offer straightforward, step-by-step "how to" instructions on a variety of topics, supported by both official Blackboard documentation and customized documentation specific for UK. The Getting Started with Blackboard Basics tutorial quickly covers the steps needed to get up and running with a new course, while other guides offer in-depth instruction on popular components such as Assignments, the Grade Center, and Tests and Surveys.
2. Blackboard University (BbU)
The University of Kentucky Office of eLearning and Faculty Teaching with Technology are teaming up to host a series of monthly mini-courses designed to help teach instructors how to use Blackboard as an effective educational tool. The courses will cover technical and pedagogical topics and will include interactive activities designed to provide a more thorough understanding of Blackboard and online learning. Participants will also be encouraged to share their previous online teaching experiences during the course.
3. Group Workshops
Workshops are offered periodically by Academic Technology staff and/or our Scholars team, with greater frequency near the beginning of each semester. For upcoming class topics and times, visit our calendar. Special topics workshops may be requested by colleges or departments for groups of instructors from their area. For more information, or to make a request, please contact the UKIT Service Desk via phone at 859-218-HELP (4357) or email at helpdesk@uky.edu.
4. One-on-One Support Session
Our Scholars are available to meet individually with instructors weekdays from 9 AM - 5 PM to provide instruction related to a particular need, such as initial course building or help with an advanced feature of Blackboard. Sessions are by appointment only and instructors are encouraged to bring relevant course materials with them for use during hands-on training. For more information, including how to request an appointment, please visit the Scholars' webpage.
