Student Stories and Successes

For many students, student employement is more than a job. It's an opportunity to gain valuable professional experience, learn critical skills, build a network and have a safe place to grow into a young professonal. Each of our students has their own story to tell, and SEAS believes it is important to celebrate our students whenever there is a chance.

Teresa Lazzari is currently in her junior year as a mathematical economics major here at the University of Kentucky, where she will graduate in May of 2017 and pursue a career as an actuary.  She was born and raised in Florence, KY.

Meet John Haas!

John is a sophomore from Louisville, Kentucky. John is new to the College of Arts & Sciences, and is a student office assistant in the Department of Chemistry.

Meet Hannah Jefferies!

My name is Hannah Jeffries. I am a senior ISC major and Psychology minor. I grew up in Naples, Florida, but have been visiting Kentucky all my life.

Meet Tasha Ramsey!

I’m Tasha! I’m a senior English major with a minor in Communication. I grew up in a small town called Utica, Ohio where I graduated from Utica High School in 2012.

Meet Hillary McLean!

I am from Indianapolis, Indiana. Following in the footsteps of my only sister, I attended North Central High School there. Once senior year came around, I was determined to be independent and deviate from my sister’s path by attending an out-of-state university.

Meet Savannah Tate!

Earlier this year, A&S announced an award designed to honor 2 outstanding senior student employees each academic year. One of the winners of the 2014-2015 awards was Savannah Tate. Savannah maintained a 3.82 cumulative GPA during her time as a student at UK.

Meet Frances Tracy!

I'm a sophomore in Biosystems and Agriculture Engineering, and I'm from Fort Thomas, Kentucky right next to Cincinnati. I work as an Undergraduate Assistant for the Mathematics Department, which includes being a UA for a math lecture as well as a few hours in the MathSkeller, a tutoring service in the basement of Whitehall.

Meet Chloe Keeling!

Chloe has been working in A&S for just over 18 months. She has worked that entire time in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, but recently added work with Dr. Rita Basuray to her resume.

Meet Brooke Kuerzi!

My name is Brooke Kuerzi and I was born in Louisville, KY and grew up in Rowlett, Texas. I am working on a BS in Biology at UK, and I only have two semesters left (fingers crossed!).

Meet Lori Johnson!

I’m Lori Johnson and I’m junior from Louisville, KY! I’m studying Integrated Strategic Communications, and Community Leadership and Development; I know it’s a mouthful, but thankfully they’re two different majors!

Meet Hannah Conner!

I'm Hannah Conner, a sophomore International Studies student here at UK!  I am focusing on Latin America and development within International Studies.  I was drawn to UK at a very young age with a long line of family members who "bleed blue".
