Denise Ho, assistant professor of history and historian of modern China, recently interviewed guest lecturer Eugene Wang, Abbey Aldrich Rockefeller Professor of Asian Art at Harvard University, who came to UK as part of the Year of China Initiative. Claire Heitzman, Gaines Fellow and recipient of a 2011 CAMWS Manson Stewart Scholarship. Every year the Classical Association of the Middle West & South (CAMWS) awards $1,000 scholarships to a limited number of undergraduate students majoring in Classics at the sophomore or junior level at a CAMWS college or university. Since 2006, Wei Jiang has been a member of a team developing a series of online Chinese Language & Culture courses, taught through BlackBoard, aimed toward high school students. Once the curriculum is completed, courses will range from Chinese I to AP Levels I and II. These are currently available to students, and level III is in development.

Steve Davis is an assistant professor in the Department of History. Davis’s area of focus is the history of South Africa, particularly the history of the anti-apartheid struggle.
