Registrar Announces Paperless Schedule of Classes Starting Spring 2009
Starting with Spring 2009, the schedule of classes will be paperless.
The decision to not print a traditional schedule book will bring both environmental and economic benefits to the university. Recently there has been a push to "go green" at UK. Reducing the printed material will help lessen the footprint on the environment. In light of recent budget cuts to Higher Education, it is the right time to reap the savings of not printing a physical book for faculty, staff, and students.
With the main source of the schedule book found online through myUK, another advantage is that the schedule will always be current and never out of date.
The Registrar will continue to print the schedule of classes for the summer advising conferences. This publication will be a newspaper format that will be much smaller and more cost effective.
Because the idea of not printing a schedule book has received such a positive response, UK will also be going paperless with the Undergraduate Bulletin starting with the 2008-09 academic year. Both publications will be available for download on the Registrar's Web site, http://www.uky.edu/Registrar/.
