ExxonMobil Geophysicist Shares Industry Insights



On September 22, Fred Schroeder, a geophysicist with ExxonMobil Upstream Research, visited the department to recruit graduate students to work with ExxonMobil. Schroeder also taught the AAPG-sponsored short course on “Application of Geology and Geophysics in Industry.” 25 graduate students, undergraduate students, faculty and staff attended the half day course. In the photo Schroeder is showing salary trends in the energy industry. There is a positive outlook for the number of geologists and salaries in the coming decades.
