Tamara Beauboeuf holds a joint appointment in the departments of Sociology and Anthropology, and Education Studies at Depauw University. She offers courses in the sociology of education, women and education, girls’ and women’s development, lifespan development, and feminist inquiry. Her published work examines teachers’ negotiations of race and gender in their identities and pedagogy, and the impact of racialized femininities on women’s embodied experiences of health, wellness, and distress. A current project investigates perceptions of strength and womanhood among African American women.
