Research
Professor Tanaka's interests include social transformations of the agrifood systems, social impact of science, political economy of international development, and transformations of East Asian societies.
Her on-going research projects examine: (a) the role of agricultural science in reconfiguring the relationship between production and consumption in the global context, (b) development and transformation of the muscle food industry in Kentucky, and (c) public concerns with the process of regulating genetic engineering.
