ResearchI am Director of the Jesse G. Harris, Jr. Psychological Services Center, the Department of Psychology's training clinic for graduate students in the APA-accredited clinical psychology Ph.D. program. I oversee the operations of the center and offer administrative and clinical supervision to the graduate students who are participating in 10 or 20-hour per week practicum placements as clinic coordinators. I also conduct psychotherapy supervision with selected graduate students who are providing adult and couples therapy.
In addition to my clinic duties, I work at Eastern State Hospital, a public psychiatric hospital in Lexington. I am director of the hospital's Recovery Mall, a program providing inpatient rehabilitation services to adults with serious mental illness and substance abuse issues. As Psychology Services Coordinator, I facilitate the provision of psychological services throughout the hospital. I also supervise clinical and counseling psychology graduate students in their practicum placements at the hospital.
My clinical and professional interests include ethics, psychological assessment, clinical supervision, and behavioral emergencies. As a past President of the Kentucky Psychological Association, I promote involvement in state psychological associations, and am active in mental health advocacy initiatives at the state and Federal levels.
