Dr. Richard Milich, a nationally recognized researcher in the area of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), uses his expertise to help local families deal with this common and challenging behavior problem. For the past five years he has served as a member of the Professional Advisory Board for the Bluegrass chapter of the national CHADD organization. CHADD, which stands for children with attention deficit disorder, is a parent information and support group. The goal of CHADD is to give parents the support and knowledge they need to help their children cope with this disorder. In his work with the local group, Dr. Milich helps the executive committee organize a local information meeting that routinely is attended by over 200 parents and community therapists. He also helps the local board keep current on the latest research findings and how they impact children and families with ADHD. For his work with the Bluegrass chapter, Dr. Milich recently received the first Hall of Fame award for 'Outstanding contributions that have improved the lives of people with ADHD.'
