I am thrilled to be part of the College of Arts and Sciences advising team!  I have a B.A. in English from the University of Wisconsin and an MA in English with a concentration in Teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) from the University of Kentucky. I am a native of Wisconsin, but now consider Lexington home. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, being outdoors, and theater. I also teach for UK's Center for ESL in the semi-intensive ESL program. I love working one-on-one with students and look forward to sharing my positive energy with each student that comes through my door!

My career began in student affairs at Ohio University where I was an undergraduate student.  I worked for the Department of Residence Life while pursuing a B.S. in communication. I moved from Athens to College Station, Texas, to continue my career in student affairs.  While in Texas, I completed an M.S. in educational administration at Texas A&M University. I enjoyed a four-year stay at Missouri State University as a residence hall director which was a very rewarding position. While I loved Missouri, I felt it was time to challenge myself in my career and I accepted a position at Eastern Kentucky University as an area coordinator in university housing. Overall it was a great move to Kentucky, but I missed working with students on a daily basis which led me to this position as an academic advisor. Outside of working for UK, I enjoy spending time with my daughter, Isabel.  She keeps a smile on my face. I’m excited to be here and look forward to meeting new students.

I am one of the recently hired academic advisors, specializing in advising freshmen. Originally from Michigan, I attended high school in Indiana before earning both a bachelor’s degree in studio art and a master’s degree in education in student affairs from Western Kentucky University. After graduation I spent two years at Austin Peay State University as a campus activities coordinator. I believe that civic engagement, self-awareness and campus involvement are major keys to a successful college career. I enjoy cooking, live music, ultimate Frisbee and meeting new people.

I am an academic advisor for freshmen in the College of Arts and Sciences. I am originally from Sylvania, Ohio, but I moved to North Carolina to get a B.A. in Spanish and international business at Greensboro College. After a year in law school and a few years of various other pursuits, I returned to Northwest Ohio to attend Bowling Green State University to get a M.A. in college student personnel. While attending BGSU, I was the residence hall director at Siena Heights University in Adrian, Mich. I have enjoyed my time working in student affairs and higher education, and I am enjoying working at the University of Kentucky.
