ResearchLockwood Chair Professor, Patterson School of Diplomacy and International Commerce and Professor of Political Sciencel, received her B.A. from Colorado College and her M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin. She is a specialist in international relations with specific expertise in international organization, international law and international political economy. Her geographic focus is on Sub-Saharan Africa. Her books include Politics and the African Development Bank, The United States and Multilateral Institutions (with M.P. Karns), and The United Nations in the Post-Cold War Era (with M.P. Kams). Dr. Mingst has published articles in such joumals as International Organization, Journal of Common Market Studies, International Interactions, Journal of Developing Areas, Africa Today, Review of International Studies, East Europe Quarterly, and Natural Resources Journal. She has conducted research in Western Europe, Yugoslavia, and West Africa, and is professionally active, having served as President of Intemational Studies Association (South), Treasurer and Vice President of the Intemational Studies Association.
