Assistant Professor, earned his B.A. from the University of Toronto, Canada (2001) and his Ph.D. from Cornell University (2009). His dissertation examines differences in the treatment of prisoners during interstate wars. He is currently involved in a number of different research projects examining various aspects of the preferences and conduct of state and non-state actors during armed conflict.

Areas of Specialization

His primary areas of specialization are international security, international institutions, and international law. He also has secondary interests in public attitudes toward foreign policy and experimental methods.
