I am an Assistant Professor in Political Science. I received my Ph.D. from the University of California, San Diego in 2006.  My dissertation, entitled, "Protesting the Contest: Election Boycotts around the World 1990-2002," examines the causes and consequences of election boycotts in developing countries. I am currently working on a book-length project investigating election-related protests and their consequences for democracy in developing countries.
