Experimental Condensed Matter

Research Interests

My laboratory measured the quasiparticle density of states of different superconductors by tunneling methods. Both mechanical junctions (scanning tunneling microscope, point contact, etc.) and planar type junctions are used. Electrons form pairs in a superconductor. We are interested in studying unconventional properties of these electron pairs found in novel superconductors. Some examples: (i) What is the angular dependence of the pairing strength? (ii) How will impurity doping affect the pairing of these electrons? (iii) How will the different types of pairs affect each other when the novel superconductor is placed close to a conventional superconductor? ....Come to visit us at CP 178 to see what we are doing.
