The College of Arts and Sciences recognizes the value of academic advising and has made a commitment to provide accurate advising information. Regardless of their Arts & Sciences major, all first year students and students with fewer than 30 earned hours are advised by professional advisors in the A&S Advising Center, located on the second floor of Patterson Office Tower. If you are in this category, click here to find your advisor.
If you have 30 hours or more of course credit, you will be advised by Katherine Hume, the professional advisor in the Department of Philosophy. Katherine advises all sophomore, junior, and senior philosophy majors, and is located in 1423 Patterson Office Tower.

While not a UK graduate, I bleed blue. My undergraduate and graduate degrees are from Western Kentucky University. My master’s degree is in communication. I have taught at both the high school and collegiate level and worked with the Kentucky’s Governor’s Cup Competition and the International Future Problem Solving Program. As a parent of two college graduates, one of whom graduated from UK, I understand some of the angst one can experience in college. I truly enjoy working with students in designing their majors, helping them navigate the university, setting goals and making life choices. In my spare time I enjoy reading and baking, and am an avid UK basketball fan.
