Modern and Classical Languages, Literatures and Cultures

Welcome to the Department of Modern and Classical Languages, Literatures and Cultures in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Kentucky.

The Department of Modern and Classical Languages, Literatures and Cultures (MCLLC) offers a variety of undergraduate major and minor programs.  Fields of study available include Classics (focusing on Classical Greek and Latin), French and Italian, German,  and Russian and Eastern Studies, which includes Arabic, Chinese, Hebrew, Japanese and Russian.  Additionally, the department cooperates with the International Studies Program and the Department of Economics to provide degree programs in Foreign Language and International Economics.  Master degree options are offered in Classics, French, and German and a Master of Arts degree in Teaching World Languages.
