Associate Professor of History Ellen Furlough specializes in modern European and French history with an emphasis on the development of a consumer-oriented society and economy in twentieth-century France.
Other publications include articles for the Journal of Social History (1993), the International Journal of Maritime History (1997), Comparative Studies in Society and History (1998), and French Historical Studies (1993 and 2002) as well as articles in edited collections. She is currently completing a manuscript entitled "France on Vacation: Mass Tourism and Consumer Culture, 1930s-1970s."
