Research

My primary area of research is visual rhetoric. I am interested in the ways that uses of visuals affect our epistemologies and invite us to re-envision our theories of rhetoric. In addition, I research and theorize rhetorical invention for images. To these ends, I work on the ninth century illuminated manuscript The Book of Kells. The Book of Kells offers me historical perspective, representing mature practices for integrating images and words, as I pay attention to current digital ones.
