English Department faculty engage in a wide variety of research and creative endeavors. More than half our faculty work in literary studies. Ranging across time, geography, and cultural or theoretical approach, literary scholars study medieval texts, contemporary culture, American fiction, and gender, among their many areas of interest. The English Department faculty also includes imaginative and non-fiction writers, scholars of rhetoric and composition, and linguists—and our scholarship in each of these areas is as diverse and nuanced as in literature. Please follow the links at left for an introduction to the dimensions of faculty scholarship and creativity, and please write faculty members directly for more information.
