The College of Arts and Sciences is restructuring its academic advising in an effort to better serve its students. All incoming freshmen will be advised by four professional advisors in the A&S Advising Center (second floor of Patterson Office Tower). A&S advisors will most questions about general USP and college policies and requirements (e.g., degree audits, repeat options, withdrawals). Sophomore through senior Biology students will be advised by three professional advisors who will be available to students throughout the workday to handle all routine advising questions. The Biology Advisors will work with students on career preparation, course selection, undergraduate research opportunities, internships, and study aboard opportunities.
Many questions, such as changes in your schedule or plan sheet, should be handled in consultation with yourA&S professional advisors. In some cases, your request may be referred to the Biology Undergraduate Affairs Assistant, Melissa Justice (859-257-4711), or the Director of Undergraduate Studies, Dr. Ruth Beattie (859-257-7647).
