The faculty of the Department of Biology comprises over thirty professors whose research programs and expertise reflect contemporary biology and its interdisciplinary nature.

Faculty have been recognized for their outstanding contributions to research in their fields, and for excellence in teaching. 

Furthermore, extramural grant funding in the department has more than doubled over the past five years, and increased almost five-fold in the last 10 years.
