Archaeology Service Units

The Archaeology Program of the Department of Anthropology oversees three service units that provide information and archaeological services to governmental organizations and private entities.

• Office of State Archaeology
  Library of state wide archaeological site records and survey reports.
• Program for Archaeological Research
  Archaeological and historical research services for public and private agencies and organizations across Kentucky and surrounding states.
• Kentucky Archaeological Survey
  Jointly sponsored by the Department of Anthropology and the Kentucky Heritage Council, KAS provides archaeological services to other state agencies, works with private landowners to protect archaeological sites, and educates the public about Kentucky's archaeological heritage.
